The course examines the history of computers from mainframes to personal computers. It introduces students to the concepts and principles associated with the operation of personal computers. Students will receive “hands-on” experience focusing on Windows Operating system Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the hardware of microcomputers for personal/business communications. MS-Word and MS-Excel will be introduced.

This course provides students with the skills to build thousands of medical words from the Greek and Latin prefixes and suffixes, word roots and combining forms. The student will learn to define medical words by analyzing all the parts, learning the correct pronunciation using the medical dictionary and computer adaptive activities. Students will have an understanding of medical diagnoses and conditions associated with each body system.
